What is IBS?

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is one of the most common, and frequently reported, digestive disorders affecting women. This condition occurs when one of the body's normal functions, such as intestinal movement, is impaired, causing sensitivity. Although it may lead to discomfort, IBS is usually treatable with the proper diet, stress management and, in some cases, prescribed medication.

Some common symptoms of IBS include:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Bloating
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
