Health Screenings &
Assessments

Take the critical first step of assessing your current health status by scheduling a screening. We offer several screening services to help you establish a crucial baseline as part of your personal wellness program.

Biometric Screening
The biometric screening is a foundational component to help patients learn about their potential health risks. A clinical professional evaluates blood pressure, height, weight and waist girth, in addition to testing glucose and performing a full lipid (fat in the blood) profile. Oral cotinine tests for tobacco usage can also be provided.

Vascular Age Screening (Carotid Intima-Media Thickness test [CIMT])
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for men and women. Houston Methodist heart and vascular screening programs help patients understand their risks, which is a first step toward prevention. The CIMT ultrasound measures artery thickness and produces a risk assessment to estimate vascular age. Cardiologists check blood vessels for blockages, review the report and provide recommendations to reduce patient risk.
