Research Interests: cell biology at the cellular and molecular level, mathematical and bioinformatic approaches in disease and drug research, computational systems biology.

Miriam Brandl received her B.Sc. in Molecular Biotechnology at the Technical University of Munich in Germany and she is now a Ph.D. student at the University of New South Whales in Australia. Her current work focuses on the generation of high content cell images and the analysis of these data sets. The analytic approach, which includes biomedical image processing and other bioinformatics tools, helps to reveal the biological effects at the cellular level of different drugs and is an important step toward the development of effective drugs in cancer research.
