Dr. Lee graduated with honors from the University of California at Berkeley where he also received the Eric Hoffer Essay Prize his senior year. From 1992 until 2001, he earned a M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the Stanford University Medical School in Stanford, California. While there, Dr. Li was mentored under a Medical Scientist Training Program grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. Dr. Lee is the first author on several key research papers, including one on histone acetylation that was published in Cell while he was still in medical school. Dr. Lee assumed his positions at Methodist in 2008.

Description of Research

Dr. Lee is an accomplished expert in nuclear medicine, biophysics, and molecular biology. His research specifically centers on pathophysiology from a molecular imaging approach. He studies the epigenetics of cancer, and develops new tools for the study of biochemical and intracellular signaling pathways, as well as platform technology for targeted radiotherapy.
