Nena Bonuel has 25 years of critical care experience and has done diverse roles in the clinical practice setting. She is currently a Clinical Nurse Specialist at The Methodist Hospital, well versed in educational program development, outcomes management projects incorporating evidence-based nursing practices and mentoring staff nurses in professional development. She is also an Adjunct faculty at Texas Woman´s University (TWU) and the Prairie View University A & M University College of Nursing. Ms. Bonuel is actively involved in four professional organizations including Association of Critical Care Nurses, Philippine Nurses Association of Metropolitan Houston, Sigma Theta Tau, and the Texas Nurses Association. She has done numerous abstracts both oral and poster presentations in regional, national, and international conferences. Nena Bonuel is also an invited speaker in both local and national conferences.

Description of Research

The main focus of Ms. Bonuel´s current research is applies descriptive phenomenology guided by Husserlian philosophy to characerize the experiences of the transplant nurses caring for renal transplant patients in an acuity-adaptable patient room.
