Symptoms of Kidney Stones

  • Pain in the back, on the side, or in the lower abdomen, which may spread to the groin; pain can be severe during a passage event
  • Blood in the urine, nausea and/or vomiting
  • Need to urinate more often or experiencing a burning sensation during urination
  • If a stone is not large enough to prompt major symptoms, it still can trigger a dull ache that is often confused with muscle or intestinal pain.

Treatment Options

  • Extracorporel Shock Wave Lithotripsy
    • Noninvasive treatment for breaking up kidney stones.
  • Rigid and Flexible Ureteroscopy with Laser Lithotripsy and Basket Extraction of Stones
    • We employ the latest digital and laser instrumentation to directly visualize and break up stones located in challenging areas of the urinary tract without an incision.
  • Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy
    • Our urologists guide direct access through the side into the kidney, allowing them to remove extremely large stones through a one centimeter hole.
