Marcie Lester

Marcie’s pituitary tumor was located in an area of the brain that is vital for normal brain function and vision. Left untreated, Marcie would potentially go blind as the tumor increasingly pressed against the optic nerve. Removal of Marcie’s tumor was accomplished through minimally-invasive surgery that used an extremely small endoscope to provide clear, magnified images of the operating field. The endoscope was used in tandem with a microscope to produce three dimensional pictures of the tumor and surrounding structures. Marcie’s tumor was resected without complication and she is back to her normal routines. Hear Marcie’s story.

Kristen Daniell

Kristen began to suffer from migraine headaches that became progressively worse. When Kristen experienced paralysis on her right side, a series of tests revealed a tumor on the top left side of her brain. Removal of Kristen’s brain tumor required extreme caution because it was large and prone to bleeding. A virtual reality system provided safe guidance through the brain and successful removal of the tumor was achieved through the use of precision micro tools and the application of ultrasonography. Kristen has since returned to her everyday routine as a makeup artist. Hear Kristen tell her story.
