The Speech and Language Center (SLC) focuses on disturbances of speech-motor control. The SLC evaluates patients clinically and also engages in research.
The SLC welcomes patients who have difficulty with speech and language. We have a special interest in evaluating individuals who have problems speaking (e.g., stuttering, spasmodic dysphonia, slurred speech, etc.) or have problems with any aspect of language (e.g., aphasia, apraxia, etc.). We also welcome seeing patients with any problem in producing sound, whether this pertains to speech, singing or learning.
Our research focuses on stuttering, brain imaging and the neurobiology of music.
