Ms. Tejpal is a graduate of Punjab University of Chandigarh, India and holds a Masters Degree in Genetics. She joined the staff in the Department of Surgery at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1980 as a Research Assistant in the Division of Immunology and Organ Transplantation. She was promoted to Research Associate there in 1986, and to Research Scientist in 1990. She assumed her current positions at Methodist in 2008.
Ms. Tejpal’s research focus is on synthetic compounds that disrupt selectin-mediated cell surface interactions. Her work has been published in esteemed journals such as Blood and the Journal of Immunology.
