New Patients Information

Houston Methodist Hospital Department of Radiation Oncology staff looks forward to the opportunity to serve you. It is our mission to provide the best care and service in a spiritual environment.

On the day of your consultation, please bring your insurance cards and a list of all medications and dosages. If you have a completed advanced directive, please extend this to our nursing staff and it will become part of your electronic medical record.

Our office will have spoken with your referring physician/physicians in advance of your consultation and will make every effort to obtain medical records & reports necessary to promote an effective consultation on your behalf. In some instances, we may require that you bring these records and or films to your visit for the physician to review.

As much information will flow from physician and care team to you during the consultation, feel free to bring a family member or friend to accompany you. We have found that having a trusted individual to listen, ask and document questions and answers is generally helpful to a productive consultation and course of treatment.

Financial Policy
Houston Methodist Hospital accepts most insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid and private payment for services in Radiation Oncology. As a patient, you will receive statements that list charges that are rendered during the course of your treatment by Houston Methodist Hospital for the technical component and items associated with the delivery of your care. In addition, you will also receive a statement for the professional component for the services provided by your physician for the consultation, treatment planning and clinical management during treatment. For additional questions regarding our financial policy, acceptance of specific insurance plans or billing questions, please contact our schedulers for direction by calling 713-790-3333.
