The New Methodist Hospital Research Institute

The Methodist Hospital Research Institute recently broke ground on a new facility that will house 420,000 square feet of advanced medical research space adjacent to The Methodist Hospital in Houston. When completed in the fall of 2009, the Methodist Hospital Research Institute will include state of the art laboratory space and specially-designed operating rooms dedicated to research.

Clinical Study: Post Transplant Diabetes and other Metabolic Disorders

As many as 30 percent of patients who are listed for orthotopic liver transplantation have some form of metabolic disorder that includes diabetes mellitus. Another 30 percent of liver transplant patients will develop post-transplant glucose intolerance and diabetes.
