Robotic Surgery - Colorectal

Colorectal surgery is a general term that refers to surgery in the area of the colon and rectum. Colorectal surgery can include the removal of all or part of the colon, the removal of all or part of the rectum as well as the removal of polyps from the inside lining of the colon.

If you have a colorectal condition, you may be a candidate for robotic assisted surgery as part of your treatment plan. The da Vinvi SI Surgical System allows surgeons to perform delicate, precise incisions. With only a few tiny incisions patients can benefit in several ways including:

  • Less blood loss
  • Quicker return to bowel function
  • Quicker return to diet
  • Shorter hospital stays
  • Less pain and scarring
  • Less risk of wound infection
  • Faster recovery and a quicker return to normal activities

This less invasive option is available for many patients. Be sure to ask your physician if you are a candidate.
