Survivors Offering Support

Support Group for women diagnosed with breast cancer.

We help women at any stage of diagnosis and treatment understand that breast cancer affects them both emotionally and spiritually, not just physically. Our mission is to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone.

Some of the Session Topics include:

  • It’s okay to cry.
  • Joy is around the corner.
  • I can’t get out of bed to work, what do I do?
  • 2-1 = I’m still a 10!
  • I will forgive.
  • How can I function when I feel overwhelmed?

Sessions are held on Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 in the Main Pavilion Conference rooms BC on the following dates.

"Look Good...Feel Better"

Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital's Cancer Center is a proud host of "Look Good...Feel Better", a free program offered in partnership with the American Cancer Society that teaches beauty techniques to women actively undergoing cancer treatment. This program aims to help these patients combat the appearance-related side effects of radiation and chemotherapy, and begin to recover both physically and emotionally.

To find out more, please call the Cancer Center at 281-242-CURE (2873) or the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.

CanCare

Like Look Good ... Feel Better, CanCare is a program offered in partnership with the American Cancer Society. This is a great support program in which cancer survivors of more than 50 different kinds of cancers volunteer to be matched up with a patient who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Volunteers and patients are matched based on their type of cancer, their age as well as their gender.

To find out more, please call the Cancer Center at 281-242-CURE (2873) or the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.
