"I'm thrilled to be joining Houston Methodist Orthopedics and Sports Medicine," said Harris. "The physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and staff here have worked very hard to make this one of the top orthopedics programs in the nation. I'm honored to become a part of the Houston Methodist family."

Harris comes to Houston Methodist from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he completed the Rush University Sports Medicine Fellowship. His special interests include sports-related injuries of the knee, hip, and shoulder, cartilage restoration, ACL and meniscus tears, shoulder dislocations, and rotator cuff tears. He is also well known for his expertise in arthroscopic hip surgery.

Harris also brings his extensive sports medicine experience to Houston Methodist, which serves as the official healthcare provider for the Houston Texans, Houston Dynamo and Houston Astros.

"Dr. Harris served as a team physician for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, and Chicago Steel," said Dr. David Lintner, orthopedic surgeon and chief of the sports medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital. "That experience combined with his expertise in arthroscopic surgeries will quickly make him a valuable part of the Houston Methodist team."

Harris is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, International Society of Hip Arthroscopy, and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers and 15 book chapters and has shared his expertise at more than 20 international conferences.

"I'm looking forward to helping local athletes of all levels get back on the field or court as fast as possible," said Harris.
