Dr. Scott Scheinin
Director, Organ Procurement, Cardiothoracic Surgery
Dr. Scott Scheinin, heart transplant surgeon at the Methodist Transplant Center for more than 15 years, is board-certified in both Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He attended Baylor College of Medicine where he completed his residency in General Surgery. He subsequentlycompleted a fellowship in Cardiac Transplantation & Mechanical Circulatory Support and his residency in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the Texas Heart Institute.
Dr. Scheinin is an active member of the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center, and trained under famed heart surgeon Dr. George Noon, Dr. Michael DeBakey's surgical partner and a cofounder of the Methodist Transplant Center.
Dr. Scheinin's professional interests include heart, lung, and heart/lung transplantation, bloodless cardiovascular surgery, high risk coronary artery bypass surgery and arrhythmia surgery.
