Meet Our Faculty and Residents

Paul Willers, DO
Dr. Paul Willers attended University of Houston – Clear Lake for his undergraduate. Later he went to University of North Texas Health Science Center – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Willers was born in Oklahoma and grew up in Lake Jackson, Texas. He worked during his high school and undergraduate education for Sherwin Williams Paint Company. During medical school, Dr. Willers devoted himself to multiple organizations throughout the institution and community, and was elected to serve as a Student Ambassador for Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. His specialty interests varied during clinical rotations, and he ultimately decided Family Medicine to be his calling. He is currently serving as Chief Resident for the residency program. Clinic interests include full scope Family Medicine, with special focus on obstetrics and surgical procedures. He plans to pursue rural medicine upon graduation. In his free time, Dr. Willers enjoys hunting, golfing, and automotive work. He is currently working on a frame off restoration of a 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40.

Rafiq Ali, MD
Dr. Rafiq Ali was born in Pakistan and grew up in Houston, TX. He attended University of Houston and Texas Chiropractic College and received his Bachelor in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees. After completing Chiropractic school, he practiced with local practitioner, later he established his private practice. After several years of practice, he decided to attend Ross University School of Medicine and completed his medical education in Dominica and New York City. Dr. Ali enjoys Family Medicine because of the broad scope of practice it provides and love taking care of patient of all ages. He is currently serving as a Chief Resident and enjoys work residents, faculties and staffs of the Residency program. Clinical interest includes Hospital Medicine, Urgent care, and Sport Medicine. He is active in the community providing health care services focusing on prevention and screening for the underserved population. He is married and a proud father of a young daughter and son. In his free time, Dr. Ali enjoy playing and watching sports, traveling, drawing, jogging, and spending time with his family.

Ashima Chauhan, MD
Dr. Ashima Chauhan was born and raised in India. She went to medical school right after high school in India as well, at the JN Medical College, Aligarh. Shortly after completing a mandatory, rotating one year internship after medical school, she moved to the US. Dr. Chauhan chose to pursue her residency training in family practice because she love taking care of people of different age groups and enjoy the full scope of practice that family medicine encompasses. In her spare time she unwinds by spending time with her husband, two year old twins and friends. She also enjoys cooking and sampling food from different cuisines, traveling and reading.

Alondra Gutierrez, MD
Dr. Alondra Gutierrez was born in Houston, Texas and relocated to my parents’ hometown of San Luis Potosí, Mexico at the age of 12. She completed her middle school, high school and medical school there. This included a year of internship and a year of social service where she served as the primary caregiver of a small rural community. She recently moved back to Houston. In her spare time she enjoys volunteer work, working out, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Llewellyn Canio, MD
Dr. Llewellyn Canio grew up in Northern California. His parents were born in the Philippines. He completed his medical school in Philippines. As a youth, he enjoyed hunting small game and riding his bike. Now, he enjoys spending time with his wife and trying out different restaurants every week. He also enjoys eating home cooked meals in front of the TV.

Thi Thanh Nguyen, DO
Dr. Thi Thanh Nguyen Graduated from ATSU School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona. He completed his Undergraduate at The University of Texas at Austin Dr. Nguyen came to the United States with his family of ten as the last wave of the "boat people" refugees from Vietnam. He grew up in Port Arthur, TX, a fishing town in Southeast Texas. His hobbies include Fishing, camping, running, and tennis. He plans to return to his home town after residency.

Nguyen Vo MD
Dr. Nguyen Vo attended University of Houston for his undergraduate and later attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine for his medical school. He is married and has one young daughter. He like to spend his free times playing basketball, going on cruises, and spending time with family.

Wajahat Khan
Dr. Wajahat Khan was born and raised in Pakistan. He earned Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Peshawar University. After graduation, he immigrated to US in 2006. Professionally his interests are inpatient Hospital medicine and Primary care. Outside work he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and traveling.

Benafsha Irani, DO
Dr. Benafsha Irani received her D.O. degree from UNTHSC - TCOM (Fort Worth, TX) in 2012 after receiving her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. She spent her third and fourth year of medical school rotations at Houston Methodist San Jacinto and enjoyed every moment of it. She is particularly interested in family medicine since it allows her to establish continuity with her patients and be involved in various aspects of their lives. After graduating from residency, she looks forward to practicing outpatient medicine in the Houston area.

Myra Pena-Delgado,MD
Dr. Pena-Delgado was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Biology. It was during time in Austin where she met her husband, Andres. After graduating, she spent a year working for the Blood and Tissue center of Central Texas. Dr. Delgado then attended the Universidad de Autonoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine followed by a year of clinical rotations at Richmond University Medical center in Staten Island. In her free time she enjoys exercising, dancing, kayaking, participating in obstacle courses, traveling, eating, and running. She chose this program for the training opportunities, and sense of support one gets from her esteemed instructors and colleagues.

David Cherian, MD
Dr. David Cherian completed his undergraduate at University of Houston- Downtown. Later he attended Medical School at University of Texas at Houston. His hobbies and interest are watching and playing soccer and Reading. He also enjoys being involved with his church.

Joshua Splinter, MD
Dr. Joshua Splinter graduated college at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. He attended Medical School at the University of Texas - San Antonio. His professional interests include procedural medicine, obstetrics, and primary care endoscopy. He is active in the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and serves as a Field Surgeon in the Texas Army National Guard. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs, hiking, and weight lifting.

Shervin Fouladi Rad, MD
Dr. Fouladi Rad graduated from Azad Tehran University School of Medicine in 2002. He was working as an ER physician and Sports Medicine Physician in Iran before moving to the United States. He used to work as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) in multiple randomized clinical trials regarding treatment of End Stage Lung Cancer at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California. He moved to Texas in 2011 and started working as a Medical Assistant in San Jacinto Methodist Hospital for one year before joining to our residency program. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing basketball, tennis, jogging, swimming and spending time with family and friends.

Nish Shah, MD
Dr. Nish Shah went to Baylor University for undergraduate and Baylor College of Medicine for medical school. During college, he played on Baylor's pool team and traveled to tournaments around the Texas area. While he wouldn't quite characterize himself as a "pool shark", he enjoys using pool as an opportunity to reflect back on the day, decompress, and relax. In addition, he love acting and have been involved in starring and directing multiple Jainism-centric plays. Also, Dr. Shah enjoys exercising, playing basketball with my friends, and being outdoors. He is a huge sports fan primarily of the local Texans and the Rockets.

Christina Prose, MD
Dr. Christina Prose grew up in the Houston area and happy to be back after her distance education. She attended Texas Woman’s University for undergraduate and completed kinesiology and also obtained a degree in Biology at University of North Texas. She later attended Ross University School of Medicine and received her medical degree. Her interest in Medicine is Adolescent medicine, sports medicine. On her free time she enjoys Running, Reading, Dancing, and I am hoping to complete my first triathlon later this year.

Christopher Wisely, MD
Dr. Christopher Wisely received his B.S. in Biology from Texas State University in San Marcos, followed by his M.D. at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. His hobbies include running, traveling, cooking, watching movies and anything that involves socializing and getting to know people. He is also a writer and former editor for an art and literature journal. He loves to share stories of the crazy adventures that he had in his life, and he enjoy even more to listen to the tales of others. Dr. Wisely is really interested in learning about and experiencing different cultures, whether it is through stories, art and photography, food, or festivals. One thing he enjoy most is getting together with several people from different backgrounds and sharing experiences over great food and fun games, such as an international potluck and volleyball or karaoke.

Lorenzo Perez, MD
Dr. Lorenzo Perez received his undergraduate education at The University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with a BS in biochemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He plans on joining a small outpatient practice once finished with residency. His Hobbies include cycling and running.

C Noemi Guerrero, MD
Dr. Noemi Guerrero grew up in Garden City, a small town in West Texas. She has six brothers, one sister and a nephew. She says that her mother is her hero! She has attended Texas Tech University for undergraduate and completed her medical school at Texas A&M HSC COM. In her spare time she enjoys collecting postcards and mementos, walking my cat and reading a good book. Her interest is Rural Medicine, Underserved population, Family, God, Friends.

Dusty Marie Narducci, MD
Dr. Dusty Marie Narducci studied Molecular & Microbiology at the University of Central Florida. For medical school she attended American University of the Caribbean, spending two years in St. Martin & two years in New York City. She is a traveling, running and sports fanatic who is always up for adventure. Writing, procedures and patient education are her favorite parts about being a doctor. She is honored to save and change lives for a living, rarely will you find her not smiling.

Tran Tram, DO
Dr. Tran Tram attended the University of St. Thomas for undergrad and the University of North Texas Health Science Center-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. She was born and raised in Houston and hope to practice in the area in the long run. She enjoys traveling, participating in sporting events, running, biking, shopping, and spending time with my family and friends. She is always up for trying new things and grateful for new adventures!

Christine Gavino, DO
Dr. Christine Gavino attended A.T. Still University, Kirskville College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her Undergraduate school at University of Texas at Austin. During college, Dr. Gavino was president of the Filipino Students Association at UT Austin. This group held events showcasing Filipino food and cultural dancing. Before medical school, Dr. Gavino was involved in thrombosis research at Baylor College of Medicine. She studied the clotting process in diseases like TTP-HUS and VonWillebrand disease. In medical school, she was an active member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and Internal Medicine club. Dr. Gavino is a proud Houstonian and Texan. She enjoys attending Astros baseball games, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, and practicing yoga. She hopes to one day practice medicine in the Houston area, with special focus on Women's Health and Geriatric medicine.
