The Department of Medicine works closely with the Methodist Center for Diabetes, Obesity and Lipid Disorders to provide state-of-the-art care for these conditions and their related health issues. This Center of Excellence is advancing Houston Methodist's diabetes research mission under the leadership of Dr. Willa Hsueh, and also seeks to reduce health care disparities at the Denver Harbor Community Center, a community intervention program for outpatient diabetes care.
In conjunction with the Methodist Cancer Center, a Center of Excellence, the Department of Medicine maintains a standard of world-class health care for patients living with cancer. Our expert teams of medical oncologists work closely with radiology oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists to assess and deliver top-tier care with respect and professionalism. The Methodist Breast Center also provides ancillary resources unique to breast cancer patients in a comfortable setting that houses medical, surgical and imaging experts.
