To provide specialized care for all patients referred to us, the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center has developed three specialized clinics around specific needs of patients with aortic conditions.
At Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center (MDHVC), we believe that multi-disciplinary approach treatment plays a vital role in the achievement of superior outcomes. As part of the Methodist Aortic Network, The Aortic Clinic combines state-of-the-art clinical care, advanced imaging and surgical excellence to provide centralized assessment and treatment options for complex aortic diseases.
Our goal is to provide a focused and well-organized patient experience that provides a thorough evaluation with clear communication regarding the severity of aortic disease and recommended treatment. Our treatment options are tailored to each patient's specific condition depending on the severity of disease.
Acute Aortic Treatment Center
To enhance the Methodist Aortic Network, and through a collaborative effort between the physicians, radiologists, anesthesiologists and cardiovascular surgeons of Houston Methodist Hospital Emergency Department, we can provide 24-hour access to a team capable of diagnosing, assessing and treating patients with acute aortic syndromes. Since many patients never make it to the operating room, we created this treatment center to focus on:
- Rapid transportation,
- Rapid diagnosis, and
- Rapid introduction of therapy for patients with acute aortic syndromes.
The Acute Aortic Treatment Center also educates both patients and physicians on acute aortic syndromes, with an emphasis on getting patients to the Center as quickly as possible should an acute aortic condition arise.
For non-emergency questions about the Acute Aortic Treatment Center, please contact us at AorticNetwork@houstonmethodist.org or call 713-441-5200.
Medical transports, ER physicians and emergency response teams can activate the team at the Acute Aortic Treatment Center by calling 713-441-5200.
For complex conditions involving the aortic valve, such as aortic stenosis, the physicians and staff of the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center Valve Clinic combine outstanding clinical care, advanced imaging and surgical excellence to provide centralized evaluation and treatment options.
