Dr. Quiñones' Biography
Dr. Miguel A. Quiñones is currently Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Chairman of the Department of Cardiology. Dr. Quiñones has been one of the pioneers in the field of cardiac ultrasound over the past 32 years. He has received national and international recognition for his contributions in the field of echocardiography, both as a teacher and as an investigator in developing noninvasive, echocardiographic methods to measure left ventricular volumes and ejection fraction, cardiac output and regurgitant volumes in mitral and aortic insufficiency. Dr. Quiñones lectures world wide as a guest speaker and has authored or co-authored over 210 manuscripts in peer review journals, over 12 book chapters and 225 published abstracts. In 2012 Dr. Quiñones received recognition as a Master of the American College of Cardiology and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Echocardiography.
