The Center for Bioengineering and Informatics focuses on developing novel computational methods, biomedical devices and health care information infrastructure with the following general goals: 
  • Help combat cancer
  • Cure diabetes 
  • Improve clinical outcomes


National Cancer Institute (NCI) Center for Modeling Cancer Development (CMCD)

The Center for Modeling Cancer Development applies systems biology to cancer with the following aims: 

  • Understanding mechanisms of tumor initiation and development 
  • Development of computational tools and models to predict treatment responses in cancer



Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Center for Bioinformatics Research and Imaging for Neurosciences (BRAIN)

BRAIN integrates neuroscience imaging and bioinformatics with experimental neurobiology and chemical genomics to understand the causes of and find cure for neuroregeneration, particularly for Alzheimer’s disease. BRAIN was founded with a gracious donation from the TT and WF Chao Family Foundation.
