Methodist Willowbrook Hospital Hosts Challenge Soccer Signing and Recognition Night

mwbh challenge soccer event Methodist Willowbrook Hospital recently hosted the annual Challenge Soccer Club Signing and Recognition Night during which 28 players from the nationally recognized select soccer club for girls announced their scholarship signings. In addition to sponsoring the event, the hospital also supports the Challenge Soccer Club of Houston throughout the year by providing athletic trainer injury evaluation and referral to appropriate physicians, concussion management, medical coverage for tournaments hosted by Challenge, athletic trainer travel to major events with teams, and medical education workshops for coaches and parents.

Challenge Soccer Club is the leading girls´ soccer club in the Houston area and south Texas, and is nationally recognized as one of the top soccer clubs in the country. Many of the girls attending the event have been named to their high school all-district, region and state teams. Players signed letters of intent to play at schools in Texas, such as Texas A&M University, the University of Houston and Texas Tech University, as well as out-of-state schools, including the University of Notre Dame, Colorado School of Mines, Oklahoma State University and University of North Carolina-Greensboro.

Other activities for local organizations supported by the hospital include injury clinics at Cypress Christian School and sponsorship of the Relay for Life at Cy-Falls High School, as well as assistance for area athletic events, including the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce FORE Golf Tournament, EMS Golf Tournament, Lone Star College Golf Tournament, and CyTri Ironman t-shirts for competitions.
