Currently, Dr. Ping Wang is the Medical Director of Clinical Chemistry at Houston Methodist Hospital and Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. She chairs the POCT committee at the Houston Methodist Hospital Health System. She is also Director of the ComACC-accredited Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at Houston Methodist Hospital. Dr. Wang is board certified in Clinical Chemistry, Molecular Diagnostics and Toxicological Chemistry by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry. She is a fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry. Prior to joining Houston Methodist Hospital, Dr. Wang did postdoctoral training at University of California, San Francisco, and obtained her Ph.D. degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Description of Research

Currently, Dr. Wang’s translational research focuses on collaborating with engineering scientists and start-up companies to develop and validate novel POCT devices using nanotechnology and microfluidics. Her other research interests include toxicology, pharmacogenomics and clinical method development using mass spectrometry.
