Biography

Daniele Di Mascolo received his Master Degree from Università della Calabria, Italy in October, 2010. His master’s research was focused on neurodegenerative disease, in particular on genetic polymorphisms in Alzheimer’s Disease patients. In February 2011, he started his Ph.D. in Biomedical and Computer Engineering at Università Magna Græcia, Italy. He joined The Methodist Hospital Research Institute in February of 2012 as a Graduate Research Fellow to improve his research experience in Drug Delivery/Imaging Systems.

Description of Research

  • Synthesis of polymeric and silicon nanopartcicles and their physical and biological characterization.
  • Evaluation of internalization and drug release profile of polymeric and silicon nanoparticles
  • Studies on the efficacy of loading drugs into nanoparticles as a better drug delivery system against tumor cells, Immunitary cells and neuronal cells.
  • Pathological Biomarkers identification by using new technology approaches.

Major Areas of Research
