The Methodist Hospital System has been named one of Houston's "Best Places To Work" for 2011 by the Houston Business Journal, making the list for the seventh time.
Methodist, which has more than 13,000 employees, was named No. 6 among companies with more than 501 employees in the city.
System employees were asked to respond to questions regarding work environment, benefits, personal growth and development, work practices and other related areas. At least 5 percent of a company's employees had to participate in the survey to be considered for the list.
In 2011, Methodist also was ranked No. 19 on FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work for" list, remaining the highest ranked health care organization in the country and the only hospital system ranked in Texas. The Methodist Hospital also is consistently named one of America's "Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report.
