FORTUNE ranks The Methodist Hospital System among “100 Best Companies to Work For”Houston, TX - 1/20/2011
For the sixth year in a row, The Methodist Hospital System has been ranked among FORTUNE magazine's 2011 "100 Best Companies to Work For," remaining the highest ranked health care organization in the country and the only hospital system ranked in Texas.
Methodist is ranked No. 19 and is one of four companies in Houston to receive the prestigious distinction. FORTUNE listed 13 companies in Texas on its 2011 list.
Among the other U.S. companies listed, Methodist ranked No. 3 for the hiring of minorities, No.4 among the country's large companies and No. 10 for work-life balance.

The Methodist Hospital System, which includes a flagship teaching hospital, four community hospitals and a research institute, was awarded its ranking for providing an exemplary workplace for employees.
Methodist was selected based primarily on a confidential survey sent to randomly selected employees, who were asked questions on the level of trust, pride and camaraderie within their workplace.
Methodist also submitted documentation about its work environment, from benefits to corporate policies to employee demographics. Methodist offers competitive benefits, diversity in the workforce, recognition for employees and a unique environment focused on integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence.
The Methodist Hospital consistently is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of America's best hospitals, ranked in 13 of 16 adult specialties for 2010-2011, the most in the state.
