Cancer Survivors Let Hope Soar at Celebration Event

Willowbrook, TX - 6/26/2013

Approximately 45 cancer survivors, caregivers, providers and members of the community recently gathered in the Swadesh Khurana Healing Garden at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day. The event included welcoming remarks by Angie Tippit, director of Cancer and Rehab Services, a prayer and thoughts of hope by Rev. Mark Young, D. Min., director of Spiritual Care, words of encouragement from Anna Belcheva, M.D., medical director of the Infusion Center, and an inspiring testimonial by cancer survivor Brenda Ballard. A balloon release highlighting the theme “Letting Hope Soar!” concluded the celebration.

The Cancer Center at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, which is an extension of The Methodist Hospital’s long standing involvement in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, is located in the Centerfield Outpatient Center on the Methodist Willowbrook campus.
