Mary Jo Rapini is a Licensed Certified intimacy/sex relationship psychotherapist. Mary Jo serves as the intimacy/sex psychotherapist for the Pelvic Restorative Center at Methodist Hospital (since 2007) in conjunction with working as a consultant to Bariatric Centers throughout Houston, Texas. Mary Jo is co-investigator on three research studies dealing with Food Addiction, New Dad's Class, and Sexual Satisfaction in the Weight Loss Surgery Female Patient. She was featured as the psychotherapist on TLC's series "Big Medicine" which completed two seasons. Mary Jo has a show on local Fox 26 called "Mind, Body, and Soul with Mary Jo" and hosts "MOJO Moment" each day on Fox 26. Mary Jo is an expert for weekly appearances with HLN/CNN (since 2009). Cosmopolitan magazine, People magazine, Women's Health, First, New York Daily News and Seventeen magazines have contacted Mary Jo on numerous stories, and Mary Jo has a "Love Relationship" blog in the Houston Chronicle. Mary Jo is a popular speaker across the nation, with multiple repeat requests to serve as key-note speaker for national conferences. Her dynamic style is particularly engaging for those dealing with intimacy/sex issues, chronic illness and relationship challenges. Mary Jo's training affords her the opportunity to advise parents regarding body image, bullying, or how to raise a confident child. She was involved with the Dove Campaign to speak for a symposium encouraging young girls to embrace their bodies, develop self esteem and build confidence. She has also lectured for "Women in Government," explaining the importance of women's sexual needs and teaching all women the importance of knowing their bodies. Her television appearances are as broad as her ability to relate one to one. Mary Jo has appeared on the Today Show with Matt Lauer, CBS up to the minute, Montel, Fox National News, Discovery Health, as well as ABC's Nightline with Bob Woodruff. Mary Jo mentions her ability to be a part of an incredible marriage, which helped her raise two healthy daughters, as well as author a book Is God Pink? Dying to Heal and co-author of Start Talking: A Girl's Guide for You and Your Mom about Health, Sex or Whatever as her greatest blessings. She also mentions that being able to co-host the Fox morning news show, which was the winner of the esteemed Gracie Award Classmates with Cancer, as a gift given to her.
