Dr. Aldona J. Spiegel
Dr. Aldona J. Spiegel is the Director of the Center for Breast Restoration at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas and an Associate Professor at Cornell University.
Dr. Spiegel is committed to providing superior, patient-focused care and preparing the next generation of surgeons to meet the highest standards of excellence. Dr. Spiegel earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Ottawa, Canada. She completed her general surgery training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed a microsurgery fellowship as well as plastic surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Spiegel's clinical expertise is in breast reconstruction and microsurgery, particularly in the area of surgical restoration with muscle sparing perforator flaps. In addition, she is interested in all aspects of aesthetic surgery and laser therapy and is committed to women’s health issues in plastic surgery.
Dr. Spiegel is a member of many organizations including the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, World Society for Microsurgery, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Harris County Medical Society, Plastic Surgery Research Council, and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Spiegel's research interests are in flap perfusion and clinical trials in breast reconstruction outcomes.
Dr. Spiegel has contributed numerous articles to medical and scholarly publications, and made presentations to professional audiences throughout the United States. Her topics have included plastic surgery, nerve injuries, and mastectomy and breast reconstruction.
Dr. Pierre Chevray
Dr. Pierre Chevray joined the Methodist Institute for Reconstructive Surgery in 2008. He is also an adjunct associate professor for Baylor’s College of Medicine in the Department of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Chevray graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). From there, Dr. Chevray attended John Hopkins University School of Medicine in Maryland, where he was awarded his medical degree along with a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics. He also completed his general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery residencies at John Hopkins Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and by the Texas Medical Board.
After his finishing his residencies, Dr. Chevray re-located to Texas where he served as associate professor and director of the Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant Programs at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Chevray performs a wide range of reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries. His primary area of expertise is in breast reconstruction surgery.
Dr. Chevray has published more than a dozen articles in peer-reviewed science journals as well as lectured at conferences around the world on his specialty, breast reconstruction surgery.
Dr. Warren A. Ellsworth, IV
Dr. Warren Ellsworth was recruited to the Institute for Reconstructive Surgery in 2010 to bring the latest techniques in breast reconstruction to our newest location at the Methodist West Houston Hospital in Katy. He also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and sees patients in both The Medical Center office as well as the West Houston office.
Dr. Ellsworth, a native Houstonian, was awarded his undergraduate degree with Distinction from the University of Virginia and completed advanced studies at Oxford University in Oxford, England. He returned to Houston to complete both his medical degree and Plastic Surgery training at the Baylor College of Medicine where he was the recipient of the Baron Hardy Award for Academic Excellence. Dr. Ellsworth trained in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, including institutions such as M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, The Methodist Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital.
Dr. Ellsworth practices the broad spectrum of plastic surgery, performing both reconstruction and cosmetic procedures. He has extensive education, however, in breast reconstruction including microsurgical and muscle sparing techniques, such as the DIEP flap.
Dr. Ellsworth has published numerous articles in scholarly journals and spoken on these topics to professional audiences at both local and national conferences.
