Sandra L. Sessoms, MD (Subspecialty Education Coordinator) is a native of North Carolina. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and subsequently completed her internship, residency and fellowship in Rheumatology at Baylor College of Medicine. She was on the full-time faculty at Baylor College of Medicine from 1983 until June 2005. She continues as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, Houston Hospital. Her particular interests include lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, vasculitis, polymyositis and scleroderma.

Lina M. Ching, MD is a native from Hong Kong and grew up in Houston, TX. She received her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and subsequently completed her internal medicine internship and residency at The Cleveland Clinic. She then completed her Rheumatology fellowship at The Scripps Clinic-La Jolla. Dr. Ching practiced general Rheumatology in the San Diego area from 2010-2012 prior to joining Houston Methodist Hospital Rheumatology section.

Jovan Popovich, MD is a graduate of the University of Belgrade Medical School. He did his internship and internal medicine residency at the University of Belgrade Medical School. Subsequently, he did an internal medicine residency at West Suburban Hospital Medical Center in Oak Park, Illinois and a fellowship in rheumatology at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Popovich also completed a fellowship in Geriatrics at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Currently, he is Interim Chief of the Rheumatology Division, the Department of Medicine, Houston Methodist Hospital. Dr. Popovich's current interests include inflammatory myopathy, IgG4-related diseases, and ANCA-assoiated vasculitis.

Richard Rubin, MD, PA is the current Clinical Service Chief for Rheumatology at Houston Methodist Hospital. He obtained his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and went on to complete his IM residency and rheumatology fellowship at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas. Dr. Rubin is currently board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
