Melissa D. Pagel, Ph.D.

Dr. Pagel received her Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Houston in 2010. Her dissertation studied the mutagenesis and electrophysiology of the properties of the Vibrio cholerae porins OmpU and OmpT. Dr. Pagel joined the Center for Molecular and Translational Human Infectious Diseases Research in 2010 to study under the mentorship of Dr. James Musser.
Dr. Pagel is investigating the genetic basis of drug resistance in group A Streptococcus at the molecular level.
