HOUSTON (Nov. 15, 2010) -The American Medical Writers Association announced today that Dr. Mauro Ferrari, president and CEO of The Methodist Hospital Research Institute in Houston, is the recepient of the the 2011 John P. McGovern Award for preeminent contributions to medical communication. The award with be presented the evening of Saturday Jan 22, 2011 at an awards ceremony and banquet in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Ferrari, a distinguished researcher, leader, and entrepreneur specializing in biomedical nanotechnology, is the President, CEO and Director of The Methodist Hospital Research Institute and also holds positions at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Rice University, and the Alliance for NanoHealth. Dr. Ferrari has more than 200 publications to his name and serves as Editor-in-Chief of two biomedical technology journals.
