Doctors´ Day 2012

On Friday, March 30, 2012 The Methodist Hospital celebrated National Doctors´ Day. Dr. Thomas Hedrick, medical director of Radiology Services at The Methodist Hospital, received the annual John W. Overstreet, M.D., Award for physician excellence.

The Methodist Hospital Medical Staff Alumni Association and The Methodist Hospital recognized Edith Jones, M.D., William Insull, M.D., Robert Rubin, M.D., Rafael Espada, M.D., Antonio Gotto, M.D., L. Leighton Hill, M.D., Margaret Bridges, M.D., Sheppy Silverman, M.D., David Childers, M.D. and Robert Rakel, MD for their dedicated service to Methodist and exceptional impact on health care in Houston by presenting them with Honor Emeritus certificates.

Additionally, the George P. Noon Award went to Board of Directors member Mary Daffin, for her leadership and service in helping expand the mission of the Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center. The luncheon and award presentation was followed by a special Medical Staff Alumni Association reception.

Thomas Hedrick, M.D. named 2012 John W. Overstreet, M.D. Award Recipient
Dr. Thomas Hedrick, medical director of Radiology Services at The Methodist Hospital, received the annual John W. Overstreet, M.D., Award for physician excellence. In its 16th year, The Methodist Hospital established the John W. Overstreet, M.D., Award which is given annually on Doctors´ Day. This year, the award recognizes Dr. Hedrick, a physician who demonstrates the values that Dr. Overstreet embodied – respect, empathy and caring in interactions with patients, family and staff.
