David S. Baskin, M.D.

Specializing in microsurgery of the brain and spine, Dr. David Baskin’s clinical practice encompasses surgical treatment for brain and spinal tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, arteriovenous malformations, cervical spine surgery, and stereotactic radiosurgery. He is well known for his experience with a minimally invasive surgical technique for endoscopic removal of pituitary adenomas and anterior skull base tumors.

Dr. Baskin has conducted research into the role of programmed cell death in stroke, neurological injury and brain cancer. Other areas of research have focused on gene therapy, nanotechnology and autism. He is the author of more than 90 publications and has received numerous awards for his research.

Dr. Baskin is program director of the Methodist Neurosurgical Residency Program. He is a Professor of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, and a Research Professor of Pharmacology and Engineering at the University of Houston.
