Patient Guide

During your time with us, you may have questions about the hospital, about your stay and about the many services we offer patients and guests.

We understand that hospitalization can be a stressful time for patients and their families. Be assured that we are here to assist you. Please let any hospital employee know how we can make your stay with us more comfortable or pleasant.

Inpatient Information

Most inpatients are pre-admitted to the hospital or admitted through the emergency department. If you have questions about the admitting process, call the Admitting Office at 713.394.6800.

Room Assignments
We have private, semi-private and deluxe rooms available. Although we cannot guarantee a specific type of room, every effort will be made to meet your room requests.

Visiting Hours
Visitors are welcome 24 hours a day in most areas of the hospital. However, certain areas may have shorter visitation hours due to a patient's clinical necessity.

Our full-service pharmacy is located on the second floor of Scurlock Tower.

Outpatient Information

You are encouraged to pre-register at least three days prior to your outpatient procedure. You can call Patient Registration at 713.394.6805 or register in person.

Preparing for Your Outpatient Procedure
Many procedures require special preparations that may begin a day or more before your actual procedure. Please contact your doctor's office for complete instructions. The office staff will let you know if you will need assistance following the procedure.

Patient Resources
Patients and guests have access to a wide variety of useful resources, including banking, pharmacy and postal services. For more information, refer to the Patient Guide.
